“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.'” Jeremiah 29:11

This is my husband, Jefferson Davis, in his element. He absolutely loves black and white film photography and used to work in the field professionally. He has a digital camera, but loves the grain and artistic feel of b&w film. I love that he loves cameras and sees beauty in the world that a lot of people miss — the lines and curves of buildings, flowers, landscapes, etc. However, my loving husband of not quite two years is going blind. He is a “blind photographer”, having been blind in his left eye his entire life. Since he first got Covid back in 2020, his right eye’s ability to see has worsened significantly. He always knew he would most likely go completely blind, however it is happening faster than he and I thought it would. He can no longer drive, so I am now a chauffeur of a passenger prince, which I do not mind, but I know he misses his freedom. Please take a look at our blog and photographic print store at Blind Photography — And, as a side note, I have dry macular degeneration, which means my eyesight is fading as well. We could use your support so we have a bright future when the blindness sets in.
JD is working with the necessary resources and groups so that he can still work when the blindness sets in. I am grateful for such programs. He has a blind cane, on which he had training, and utilizes a magnifying light when fixing cameras. But I wish and pray with all my heart that his vision will stop declining, especially since there is so much of the world he wants to see. Prayers appreciated, as is support. Even just sharing his website is a great support to us. I know in my heart that God has great plans for us and will use us to love and help others. But there are those days that are harder than others, knowing what the love of my life, best friend and wonderful human being is going through. Thank you for your kindness and love. May God bless you and yours.
