Doggos

He’s a Good Boy

Stanley Gibbs was my parents’ dog. They adopted him from Carrie On Rescue in Gilbert, AZ back in 2014. After they both passed, years apart, I kept him since he had lived with me the longest. And I can’t imagine not having kept him. He comforts me when I’m sad or anxious and he protects the house and me with everything he’s got. He catches treats in the air, walks like a people, and seems to fart a lot more lately than ever before. He’s a good dog and life would be amiss without him.

He and his sister, Cinnamon, who is roughly the same size, though far stronger, play well together. He isn’t always in the mood to play, as he is 10 and she is seven. However, they do like a good game of tug of war. We bought them giant toys one day, which they’ve since de-stuffed, and he tried to take it through the doggie door. It was such a riot. I caught that on video for all to see.

Stanley knows things. He knows when you’re about to leave the house or go on vacation, as do most dogs. But he also knows when there is danger nearby or when I’m not feeling well. He warns us of the former and lies cuddled up next to me for the latter. And I know he would happily die protecting me.

JD and I often joke about a website for him called Stanley Paws dot com. We haven’t made it and probably won’t ever spend money on it, but don’t we all wish our pets could make money to help pay the bills? I mean, Stanley paw pictures would sell, right?

You can often find Stanley outside chasing lizards and bugs or barking at unseen dangers. You will most likely find him by my side asking for love and attention, especially when I’m in the middle of scrapbooking, making a journal, Bible journaling or playing/working on my new computer. He is a big part of my life, so I just had to share something about him. I hope you enjoy these pictures of my loyal friend. He’s a good boy.
